MISS CORDELIA CULPEPPER
Miss Cordelia Culpepper
is a my first swap doll done for the IBDC. The theme of the swap
was "Summer Vacation", and the doll was supposed to represent your home
state. Well, Miss Cullpepper is a modern day Southern Belle, hailing
from the State of Alabama (my current - not original - homestate).
She's wearing a classic summer dress in a teal print, with a crocheted
totebag and matching wide-brim hat (watch out for that summer sun)!
She decided to make a scrapbook of all the interesting places she visited
this summer! Please see below for her Miss Cordelia's summer vacation!!
Here's Miss Cordelia
at the 16th Street Baptist Church - the site of a bombing that took the
lives of 4 little girls and opened the eyes, hearts, and minds of a nation.
Decades later, Birmingham is a different city - many, many things have
changed, but we'll never forget the little lives sacrificed in the name
of freedom.
Here's Miss Cordelia
in downtown Birmingham, enjoying the sites, taking in the culture, and
doing a little shopping (that tote bag's full of credit cards)!
Roll Tide!!!
Here's Miss Cordelia on the quad of the University of Alabama, the home
of the "Crimson Tide" football team! Winners of many SEC Championships,
the University of Alabama is most famous for it's football team, but it
also produces a large amount of successful scientists and business
people. Of course, the folks at the rival college, Auburn would disagree!
Gentlemen, start
your engines!! Here's Miss Cordelia at the races in Talledega, home
of NASCAR and the Diehard 500. Her cousin, NASCAR Barbie, is known
to make an appearance here every now and then!
...3...2...1...Lift-off!!!
Here's Miss Cordelia at the NASA Space Center in Huntsville. Many
a famous astronaut has received training here. As interesting as
her trip was, Miss Cordelia chooses to stay earthbound for now!
Here's Miss Cordelia
enjoying the spectacular view that is the landscape of Alabama. Maybe
next week, she'll opt for the beach and spend the weekend at Gulf Shores!
